No-Bloat Chia Pudding or Porridge!

If oatmeal or other grains make you feel bloated, welcome Chia to the rescue! You're going to LOVE this super-easy recipe, and it will feel really nice and soothing in your tummy.

Fabulous Chia Pudding

One of the great things about this recipe is that you can quickly prep the ingredients before you go to bed, and it will magically be ready for you in the morning!

So, if you tend to rush a bit in the morning to get out of the house, this one's for you!

Aside from the fact that Chia seeds are easy to digest, they have a huge nutritional quotient! They're considered to be a superfood, and provide high energy and endurance, among many other benefits. Studies have recently discovered that the benefits of Chia are much more than was previously known.

Chia seeds are rich in fiber, omega-3 fats (a great way to help balance the omega 3-6-9 ratio in your diet), high in antioxidants, protein, vitamins and several key minerals. They help to boost your metabolism, help to burn belly fat, are great for your skin, bones, heart, help you build muscle, lose weight and more!

There are so many benefits to Chia seeds, it's no wonder they've become so popular with health conscious folks (and hopefully, now YOU!)

And, they are a really FUN ingredient! They swell up when placed in liquid (they absorb up to 10 times their weight when placed in water) creating a really unique consistency and texture, which is why this pudding or porridge are so great!

Remember, you can add Chia seeds to a lot of your recipes, salads, smoothies, etc. to enjoy their super powers. (HINT: Try adding a T-sp into a pitcher of lemonade!)

This particular recipe uses Chia seeds almost exclusively.

Ready for it?

INGREDIENTS

1/4 c. Organic Chia seeds

1 1/2 c. Home- made Almond Milk (see recipe) or other nut milk.

Dash of cinnamon

Fruit and nuts of your choice (strawberries, blueberries, banana, nuts, coconut, etc.)

That's it!

TO DO:

Simply hand-stir the Chia seeds with the liquid in a large bowl, cinnamon and Stevia.

Place in fridge over-night.

Ta-da!

Really? That's it?

Making Chia pudding

Well, almost. Now the creative part begins. Decide if you want it cold as a pudding, or warm as a porridge. Then... decorate!!

As a pudding, have it cold in a bowl, and add fruit and soaked nuts on top (or for a fun variation, you can layer pudding and fruit in a mason jar the night before, and take it with you!)

As a porridge, slightly heat it in a pan, just enough to remove the chill from the fridge. Please DO NOT cook this! It will ruin the nutritional punch of the Chia seeds.

So warm it up slightly, and then have fun decorating your bowl!

Warming up Chia porridge

Kids (this includes YOU) might love to decorate it with different ingredients in creative ways. Here's another creative decorating idea. Sky's the limit.
